ALQVIMIA PRODUCTS DURING PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is important to choose gentle and safe products for your skin. At ALQVIMIA, we offer several options perfectly suited to these special moments.

- 100% pure vegetable oils

- Shower gels: Our shower gels, with a low concentration of essential oils, are also suitable. Just make sure to rinse the skin thoroughly to remove any residue.
- Preventive anti-stretch mark body oil: Highly recommended to prevent the formation of stretch marks, as it is highly nourishing, moisturizing, and regenerating.
ARE ALQVIMIA PRODUCTS VEGAN?
Almost all ALQVIMIA products are vegan, as they are mostly made exclusively from plant-based raw materials, and some active ingredients are of biotechnological origin. However, some are not classified as vegan because they contain ingredients of animal origin (beeswax, propolis, honey…) that do not cause any harm to the animal. These products are:

- Ylang-ylang cleansing emulsion
- Perfect Hands hand and nail cream
- Body Elixirs
- Bath gels (except the Intimate Gel)

DOES ALQVIMIA TEST ON ANIMALS?
No. Since its beginnings, ALQVIMIA has avoided this type of practice and has never tested its products on animals. This practice has been banned in the European Union since 2009, as established by Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, which certifies that any cosmetic purchased in the European Union has not been tested on animals.
ALQVIMIA holds the ISO 22716 certification for Good Manufacturing Practices for cosmetics, confirming that the company complies with Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009.
HOW LONG DOES THE PRODUCT LAST AFTER OPENING?
ALQVIMIA products do not have an expiration date printed on the packaging. This is because all products have passed stability testing of the formulas under extreme conditions for 3 months. This indicates that the shelf life exceeds 30 months after manufacturing when unopened.
According to Cosmetic Regulations, for products with a shelf life longer than 30 months, cosmetic products must display a Period After Opening (PAO). This indicates the time in months that the product will remain in good condition once opened for the first time. The symbol used is an open cream jar with the time in months:
The only ALQVIMIA products that have an actual expiration date printed on their packaging are the Nutricosmetics items.
CHANGES IN SCENT AND APPEARANCE
ALQVIMIA products are made using raw materials of natural origin, which means there may be some variability between batches. This variability, together with exposure to the environment, may naturally and spontaneously cause changes in scent and color. For this reason, it is important to respect the PAO (Period After Opening) of the products to ensure that such changes are minimal or non-existent. After this period, it cannot be guaranteed that the product will not undergo changes in scent and/or color.
Changes only in color and scent are inherent to natural raw materials, and as long as they occur within the PAO, they do not affect the quality or effectiveness of the products.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OIL, EMULSION AND BODY ELIXIR
The main difference is that body oil has a vegetable oil base, while body elixirs or emulsions are a blend of an oily phase and an aqueous phase. Therefore, their textures and application experience are completely different.
At ALQVIMIA, we recommend using body elixirs or emulsions in your morning routine, and body oils in your night treatment routine, as they require more time and massage for proper absorption.

FROM WHAT AGE CAN ESSENTIAL OILS BE USED?
Body oils outside the Children and Babies range have been designed and evaluated for adult use. At ALQVIMIA, we recommend using the Children and Babies range for as long as desired, and from the age of 3, other products with gentle essential oils such as the Anti-Stress or Relaxing Lavender ranges may be introduced.
If you have any doubts, we recommend consulting a pediatric professional to ensure there are no incompatibilities.
